a further one or two semesters of study. Industry placements
may be undertaken in Australia or overseas.
ICHM students have access to purpose-built facilities and
state-of-the-art equipment, including training kitchens, a
restaurant that is open to the public, a simulated hotel front office,
function centres and bars, as well as two wine appreciation
laboratories. All first-year and some students in other years live
on campus during the academic year in shared villa-style
apartments. The furnished single bedrooms are equipped with
computers, recreation facilities and broadband internet access,
and all meals are included.
Applications can be submitted directly to the institution or
through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) for
Victorian students. Entry requires the completion of Year 12 with
an ATAR of 70 or equivalent, and students should be 18 years old
or over upon entry. Alternative admissions schemes are
available. International students must meet English language
The International College of Hotel
Management (ICHM) is a specialist hotel
management institute aimed at the top end
of the hospitality market
As a private institution, ICHM charges full fees for its
courses, although scholarships are available. It is also a
government-approved higher education provider, which means
domestic students in approved courses can access FEE-HELP
loans to cover part or all of their tuition fees. For more information

International College of Hotel Management (ICHM)
Established in 1992 in partnership with the Swiss Hotel
Association (SHA) and the South Australian Government, the
International College of Hotel Management (ICHM) prepares
students for a successful career at the top end of the
international hotel industry.

At ICHM students can choose to graduate with one or two
degrees. First comes the Bachelor of Business (Hospitality
Management). This is followed by the Bachelor of International
Hotel Management (Swiss Hotel Association), which provides
additional internationally relevant and emerging business
ICHM students spend six months each year studying an
advanced business management program full time on the
campus. While on campus, students learn about all aspects of
the international hospitality industry, from an operational
perspective right through to a senior management level.
The second six months of each year are used for industry
placements. ICHM has built an enviable reputation for the
quality of the industry placements arranged for its students,
allowing them to work throughout Australia and even overseas.
